The LAST! in a long long list of WIP's!

No comments:
I never thought I'd reach the end, but we finally have!!!  Here's the last of the WIP's that I've been working on.  I'm working through the box and hope to have either frogged, completed or repurposed everything in this box!  Some things have already been frogged or finished and I'm glad that I'm making some progress through it finally!!!  Hopefully a lot of it will make great gifts!

WIP #45

The weather scarf.  I think it was Caron who put on this crochet along.  You were supposed to assign colors to different tempurature ranges and then crochet a couple of rows everyday.  Sounds easy, but I just couldn't keep up.  It didn't help that I decided that I wanted to also designate different stitches to different weather conditions, ie cloudy, rainy, snowy, etc.  I ended up giving up on it after probably 15-20 days and stashed it away.  I have actually already frogged this piece as of writing this. :)

WIP #46

I have absolutely no idea.  Really, seriously, I have no idea what this little circle was supposed to go to, or why I held onto it.  It's in the frog pile.

WIP #47

This is an interesting little strip.  I think it was meant to be the start of a cardigan or something.  I'm not sure why I put it away, but now that I'm looking at it again, I'm thinking it might make a great cowl with a few adjustments.  We'll see.

WIP #48

This was the start of a vest that I was making for my sister in law.  I didn't end up liking how it was coming out with the yarn that I was using, so I pulled out the needle and left it laying around.  I'll frog this piece as well.

WIP #49

I was trying to make an autumn themed shawl.  I started this and switched patterns.  Frog pile!

WIP #50

My first attempt ever at a sock.  The shape is perfect, but the size is too big.  I need to reduce the stitches, but that won't happen with this one.  It's in the frog pile.

WIP #51

This was a first prototype for a quilt like blanket that I wanted to make for my grandmother in law.  I got this far and realized it was starting to look like a swastika so I stopped.  Onward!

WIP #52

I was going to make a diaper bag.  This was to be it's pocket.  I was tired and pregnant and went out and bought a diaper bag instead.  This will be frogged.

Whew!  We made it through the ridiculous list of WIP's that I have in store for myself this year.  The next time that you hear me talk about them, there will be progress!!!

What are you working on right now?  Leave me a comment!

Sweater WIP's, New Year's Resolution Post... Again!

No comments:
Today's WIP sharing session is brought to you by SWEATERS!  I have several in different stages that got stashed at weird points and I even forgot that I had a few of these!!

WIP #40

This sweater actually started its life meant to be the Uptempo Vest I found on Ravelry.  After I worked the two panels, however, I found the vest to be a little long for my liking and a little lacking in the flair department.  I pinned it up to my mannequin and went to work.  I added this small pineapple in the back:

As well as pineapple sleeves in gray and a nice gray trim.  Now I'm just waiting until my next trip to the craft store to find some buttons for the front, then all I have left is to join the arms to the piece and sew in all the ends.  It could probably use a good wash and block as well. :)

WIP #41

This is a simple sweater dress that I started based off of the Spiralis pattern on Ravelry.  I added a cable coming out of the pocket and am probably about 40% done with this one, but I can't find the notebook with my project details right now!  Not to mention that whatever yarn is attached to the piece is the last I have of that color until I can get to the craft store.  bummer!

WIP #42

This one is pretty much done, but needs to be cleaned up (the dryer was not nice to this one!) and the armpits need to be reseamed.

WIP #43

Since this picture, this piece has undergone a lot of change!!  I'm working on a new pattern for a sweater dress for my youngest child.  She loves all things frilly so there's lots of ruffles involved but it's still not quite done.  When I took the picture, I just had these two front and back pieces for the top of the sweater. :)

WIP #44

This is my attempt at the Paris sweater.  I started it on knitting needles, but then got my knitting machine and went... wow.  I need to do this on the knitting machine instead!!  So I worked for a good 4 hours one night and cranked out this large piece, bound it off, and discovered that it needs more length.  I will have to reattach it to the knitting machine and add about 20 more rows before I can finish it off.

The more I talk about these, the more I mentally note for myself in the future!  I've frogged a ton of projects and also finished a few now, and I'm so glad there's only going to be one more installment of WIP's before I can start sharing finished projects!!!

What are you working on?  Share below!!!

New Year's Resolution, WIP City!

No comments:
In the interest of finishing my posts about the WIP's in my box and moving on to the finishing aspect, I'm bombarding you with these posts to finish them up.  The next set I have to share with you is all stuff that is really close to being finished.  Let's not delay and get on to...

WIP #35

I ran out of yarn.  I stashed it.  I'm pretty sure I have enough yarn to finish it in the right color and if I don't maybe I'll just add a contrasting color band at the bottom.  Who knows, right?

WIP #36

Super simple boot cuffs, made from some of my favorite yarn.  Just need the ends woven in!!

WIP #37

A pattern of my own design, this filet panel is meant to be in my bedroom, hopefully soon serving as a curtain panel!!

WIP #38

This hat was coming out too large for my head, so I left it.  I want to turn it into a slouchy hat and sell it on my website.

WIP #39

After I made this hat, I realized I don't like single crochet hats.  I think I'm going to turn it into a bear and sell it soon.

So there you have it, even more WIP's to add to my list.  These at least will be very easy to finish up!
Do you have any WIP's you're working on?  Leave me a comment below!

New Year's Resolution, Finishing those WIP's

No comments:
Here we meet again, over another round of unfinished projects in my stash.  It just keeps climbing, and I hope to be able to say at the end of the year that I've gotten most of them done.  I sure hope I can!  I've already started working, and have finished a couple of projects and also frogged a bunch, but it's progress nonetheless!  Without further adieu, lets move along to...

WIP #30

My kids love everything Hayao Miyazaki.  One of their favorites is My Neighbor Totoro, and I promised that I would make them a catbus.  Well, I started, but haven't finished and it's been sitting in a box for quite some time.  I'm hoping to finish it this year and get it in their room and out of my box!!!

WIP #31

This is the start of my attempt at a barbie sized crochet doll.  I love how her head looks, but gave up after an arm, for some unknown reason.  Hopefully I can remember what I did with that arm to replicate it on the other side!!!

WIP #32 and #33

I'm not entirely sure what I plan on doing with these once they're done.  The bags are done, the fruit pictured is done, they just need ends woven in.  I wanted to add some vegetables and then I will either gift these or sell them on my shop.

WIP #34

My girls door was broken, so I was making them a beaded curtain.  My basement flooded and all the beads that I had were lost.  I stashed it and now their door is fixed.  I plan on finishing it eventually, but I'm not sure when or what I'll do with it once it's done.

There's my shares for today, do you have any projects in process you would like to share??  Leave a comment below!!

New Years Resolution WIP Collection Demolition!

No comments:
So here I am, back for more unfinished object self shaming.  I really did not think that it was this bad when I got started, but I knew after I took all the pictures, made the list and reorganized everything that it really was that bad.  But it is all going to be OK.  I've set plans in motion and begun working on a bunch of these projects and one by one, they're getting completed or frogged.  It's actually a very cathartic process (which I'll share after I've gotten through sharing what all the projects are in the first place)  So without further adieu, let's jump right in to....

WIP #25

This was actually the very first prototype for the blanket that I made my oldest daughter.  She was jealous after I made the blanket for my younger daughter, so I told her I would make her a blanket too.  I got started and was working along on this great new pattern, when she started crying because she wanted it to be just like her sisters!  Not to be discouraged, because I knew that I was on to a great pattern here, I took her up to my yarn selection and let her pick out her own selection of colors and told her that it would be unique like her.  She was happy and I was happy she was going to let me do this great pattern for her.  So I tossed this one aside and started over in her colors.
I still love the color combination in this blanket and would like to finish it.  I'm holding on to it for now, and will decide whether to frog or finish later.

WIP #26

I made this wonderfully lush display blanket for my mother a couple of years ago, and she loves it - it matches her living room perfectly (yep, I did that on purpose).  When I was done with the blanket, I discovered that I had worked an extra motif.  Not one to throw anything out, it made it's way into my WIP bin.  It is currently sitting in my undecided box because I could join some of the random motifs I have and make something interesting, or I could also just frog it and throw the yarn in my scrap bin.

WIP #27

I think these were motifs for a shirt or something?  I really don't remember.  They're sitting in my undecided box.

WIP #28

Another unknown motif.  Wow.  Where do these come from?  They're like socks in reverse!

WIP #29

This square was a test.  It was just a test.  Yet, I cannot throw it out, or bear to frog it.  Maybe I can find something to use it for?

Well that was kind of a weird UFO collection for today.  Mainly all these weird squares that I've collected over the years.  Should I do something with them or should I frog them?  What do you think?  Leave me a comment below!!

New Year's Resolution WIP's Part 5

No comments:
Here we are again, continuing on with my WIP New Year's Resolution project and with each post that I make sharing my WIP's, I feel a little more embarrased as I know that I have WAAAAY too many unfinished projects!  But still I'm sharing, as a way to keep myself accountable and moving along in these projects.  As of writing this, I've already finished 2 projects that are in my WIP box, and can't wait to start sharing the finished projects with you!!!  Don't worry, those will come soon, sometime after I finish up with all of these posts!!  So lets jump right into it with....

WIP #20

Now this project is actually a conglomeration of a bunch of different motifs that I found and have put together for a sort of sampler blanket.  My husband is a very tall man and I wanted to make a blanket just for him that would be big enough for his frame, to give him his own blanket to snuggle up with on cold days.  I love the way that the squares are coming along, however, I shelved it when I was working on other projects.  I'm hoping to finish it this year and give it to him for Christmas!!

Seen in this first picture are: Celtic Knot Square and Double Treble Burst

WIP #21

So this blanket was based off of the baby blocks crocheted afghan.  I started based off of some designs that I had sketched out for 3 dimensional eye popping designs.  I got this far and decided I just didn't like how it was coming out!  I went ahead and changed the design and did end up creating something gorgeous, which will be coming to my website soon!
This project will probably be frogged and its yarn repurposed. :)

WIP #22

This blanket is for a very special little boy I know.  This is just one square, and sadly it is the only square that I have complete right now.  I need to delve back into the patterns and get the squares finished so maybe I can gift it next christmas!

WIP #23

I love this blanket.  I just can't figure out how to finish it!!  The center is that huge floral block that I designed, and I just love how it came out!  The long panels are for the sides, but I do not know what sort of block to put in the corners of the blanket.  (the pink and white side was the first one I made and then I decided that the sides needed to be in multiple colors and not so pink.  I still plan on finishing it, but need to decide on those darn corner squares.

WIP #24

Now these are an interesting bunch.  I can't tell you what all of the patterns are, as many of them do not have any pattern.  These are all little bits and scraps that are eventually going to make up a really unique CAL that I plan on hosting, made up of lots and lots of flower squares.  I've already picked this up and put it down several times, so it probably won't be the first thing I work on!

So there you have it, my next installation of WIP's that I'm working on.  Do you have any WIPS that you're trying to knock out right now?  Have you made one of these projects?  Leave me a comment below!!

New Year's Resolution WIP's Show and Tell #4

No comments:
I warned you that there would be a lot of WIP's I was posting about.  Think if I had tortured you with all of these at once!!!  The load time on one post would be ridiculous.  So here you have it, another installment in my New Years Resolution project to destroy my WIP collection and repurpose, finish, recycle and more.

WIP #16 & #17

This is my aqua aloha top.  I love the look of this sweater, but I just can't make it happen.  I don't know if I need to drastically change something, but no matter how I try to gauge it out and work it up, it just won't happen.  The purple one was closer to size but I ran out of yarn and patience.  The grey one was worked once and then ripped out and worked again, seamed on one side and then I discovered it was huge.  So I threw it in my bin and left it for repurposing or something.

I think I will probably end up frogging these both, sadly.

WIP #18

This is a Mandala throw that I found on ravelry.  I worked this as per instructions using Caron Simply Soft yarn.  This is close to a full skein of yarn, and only measures about 12" across.  It's buckling and tight and I really am unhappy with how it came out.  This project will be frogged as well.

s

WIP #19

This doily was coming along ok until it came time to do the sides.  I had made a large error earlier on that I just wasn't able to save.  I think I will probably take the side off of it and see if I can block the center circle to look nice.  If I can, then I'll probably gift it this year.

So there are WIP's 16-19, with still more to come in this series.  Have you tried one of these projects?  Are you working on WIP's?  Leave a comment below!

New Year's Resolutions: WIP's with more to Go!

No comments:
You thought I might have been done after Part 2 of the WIP series that I did last week.  Well, sorry, but no.  There's a lot more where that came from!  (Talk about embarrassing!!!)  Today's focus is a set of WIP's that I could probably finish in no time at all.  I left these in their own box and they'll probably be the first ones that I work on to give myself a boost of confidence to keep going on some of the harder UFOs (not to mention clear out some room!!!).

Continuing on, we're on...

WIP #12 and #13

These two basket weave washcloths were made for gifts but then I decided they didn't match any of the sets that I had made.  They were abandoned with their tails left on and I just need to weave in the ends and these will be on their way to my shop!

WIP #14

I originally made this hat for my daughter, but her head was way too fat for it, so I discarded it into my WIP bin.  There's just tails hanging out of it.  I want to weave in those ends and maybe add some embellishment to it and then sell it in my shop.

WIP #15

I literally just forgot about this hat.  When I pulled it out of the bin, I was surprised.  I've got this hat listed in my shop so I'll just finish it up and then sell it off.

And now we're up to 15 WIP's with more to go and you'll be seeing those soon!!!  What UFO's are you working on right now?
