Fornicating Reindeer Sweater *Knit Pattern {Blueprint pattern]

Sometimes, you get invited to a Holiday party where they may be doing a white elephant gift exchange... and you know that this group has a penchant to do something off the wall, raunchy or just plain weird.  Well, when in Rome.... do as the crazy people do!

I wanted to bring something that was totally unique, that no one would be able to buy anywhere.  My go-to for these types of things is to make them.  So I came up with this great sweater idea:

The Fornicating Reindeer Sweater!!!!

This pattern is more of a blueprint than it is a pattern.  I used a jumper pattern from the Bond America Website and tweaked it, adding in my own fair isle touches along with the fornicating reindeer knit chart that I found on ravelry.  Here are my notes and ramblings to design your own!!!

First up, here are the charts that I used:

I started with the Fornicating Deer Chart, found HERE on Ravelry.  I sketched this out in my graph book, and added the green border that you see above.

Then, I sketched up the red border that I wanted to appear at the bottom of my sweater, and the bottom of the sleeves.

Next, I decided on the size from the Bond America Pattern, found HERE.

I made this sweater on a knitting machine, which worked up pretty quickly, but you can tell I had a few small errors with the border patterning.  

I knit the sleeves flat and then seamed them on the underside of the arm, and the front and back were each knitted as their own panels.  I then joined everything together and sewed it up.  

Arm Warmers {Hand OR Machine Knit Pattern}

So I once had a bike ride where I knew I would want a pair of arm warmers, to save on wearing a bulky coat, but to keep my forearms warm.  I used a knitting machine for most of this, however you could easily do it all by hand if you wished.

Materials needed:
2 colors of yarn
Buttons
Knitting machine (optional)
size 8 knitting needles
Embroidery needle


CO 50 sts  (If working on a machine, work about 10 rows of waste yarn, before casting on the yarn you want to start with)
Work x amount of rows alternating 2 rows of one color and then 2 rows of another.

If working on a machine, work about 15 rows of waste and then work the next armwarmer in the same fashion, finishing off with another 10 rows of waste yarn.

Pick up 50 st from one end and work 6 rows of a k4, p2 pattern.  Repeat for the other side.
*Knitting machine only* work rib on both armwarmers, then remove waste yarn.

Wrap warmer around your arm and pin to the size you need, and seam down the side, attaching buttons as you go.  Repeat for the second warmer.

You're done!  They're easy, they're worked flat and they work up exceptionally fast on a knitting machine!!!

Long and Lengthy Cowl {Knitting Pattern}

Long and Lengthy Cowl
Use a medium weight yarn, size 8 circular needle.

Cast on for the length that you want it to be, in my case I made it extra long- I can wrap the cowl three times around my neck.

R1: K around
R2: P around
R3: K around
R4: P around
R5-9: K around
R10: P around
R11-15: K around
R16: *YO, k2tog* around
R17: *k2tog, YO* around
R18-20: Repeat R16-17
R21-25: K around
R26: P around
R27-31 K around
R32: P around
R33: K around
R34: P around
R35: K around
Bind off with last row using the three needle method.


This is one of the first cowls that I ever made, it works up very quickly and very easily.  This is a great beginner project.  Enjoy!
